The Role

As a Catering Assistant, you'll play an important role in ensuring meals are prepared, served, and delivered efficiently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and customer service.

You'll help create a positive dining experience for pupils, residents, patients, staff, and visitors.

What You'll Be Doing

• Assisting with food preparation and basic kitchen duties
• Serving meals and refreshments in a professional and friendly manner
• Setting up and clearing dining areas
• Operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Supporting chefs and catering teams during busy service periods
• Washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout kitchen and dining areas
• Following food hygiene, allergen, and health & safety procedures
• Receiving and storing deliveries
• Supporting the overall smooth running of the catering operation

You'll ideally have:

• Previous experience within catering, hospitality, retail, or customer service
• A positive and professional attitude
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent attention to cleanliness and hygiene
• Reliability and a strong work ethic
• A customer-focused approach

Enhanced DBS Opportunities

Many of the environments we support require an Enhanced DBS Check due to working within:

• Primary and secondary schools
• Colleges and academies
• Care homes and nursing homes
• Specialist education provisions
• Residential care services
• Healthcare environments

Candidates who already hold an Enhanced DBS may be able to access opportunities more quickly. If you do not have a DBS, please let us know if you would like to discuss a new application, have a chat with one of our consultants.
