DBS Information

Many of our clients operate within regulated sectors and require staff to have a valid Enhanced DBS Certificate covering Child Workforce, Adult Workforce, or both.

The DBS must either:

• Be registered with the DBS Update Service, or
• Have been issued within the past 12 months

If you do not currently hold a valid DBS, you must be willing to complete the relevant checks through Blue Arrow. Please note that a fee is applicable for new DBS applications.

Key Responsibilities

As a Catering Assistant, your duties may include:

• Preparing and serving food and drinks
• Assisting kitchen staff with food preparation tasks
• Maintaining cleanliness within kitchen and dining areas
• Complying with food hygiene, allergen, and health & safety regulations
• Supporting catering teams during busy meal services
• Cleaning kitchen equipment, crockery, and utensils
• Assisting with stock control and replenishment
• Ensuring work areas remain organised and hygienic

Skills & Experience Required

Successful candidates will typically have:

• Previous experience in catering, hospitality, food service, or a customer-facing environment
• A good understanding of food safety and hygiene procedures
• A Food Hygiene Certificate (advantageous but not essential)
• A positive and professional attitude
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to work effectively under pressure
• Good reliability, flexibility, and timekeeping
• Access to transport, which is beneficial for travelling to different client sites
