Assignments may be based within:

Nursing and Residential Care Homes
Schools, Colleges and Educational Establishments
Nurseries and Early Years Settings
Corporate and Industrial Catering Facilities
Hotels, Leisure Facilities and Hospitality Venues
Conference Centres, Events and Commercial Catering Operations

DBS Requirements

Due to the nature of some assignments, particularly within education and care sectors, candidates may need to hold a valid Enhanced DBS Certificate covering Child Workforce, Adult Workforce, or both.

The DBS must:

Be registered with the DBS Update Service, or
Have been issued within the last 12 months

If you do not currently hold a DBS certificate, you must be willing to complete the necessary checks through Blue Arrow. Please note that fees apply for new applications.

Duties and Responsibilities

As a Catering Assistant, you will help deliver an efficient and high-quality food service by:

Assisting with food preparation and basic kitchen tasks
Serving meals, snacks and beverages
Maintaining cleanliness across kitchen and dining areas
Adhering to food hygiene, allergen awareness and health & safety procedures
Supporting chefs and kitchen teams during busy service times
Operating dishwashing equipment and cleaning utensils
Assisting with stock replenishment and storage organisation
Ensuring a safe and hygienic working environment at all times

Candidate Requirements

We're interested in hearing from applicants who have:

Previous experience in catering, hospitality, food service, or customer-facing roles
Knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards
A Food Hygiene Certificate (desirable but not essential)
A positive, professional and flexible attitude
Strong communication and teamwork skills
The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic
Access to their own transport, which would be advantageous for travelling between sites
