Key responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation and serving of meals, snacks, and beverages for residents.
- Ensure meals are presented attractively and served in a timely manner.
- Support residents during mealtimes in a respectful and caring manner when required.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness at all times.
- Wash dishes, utensils, kitchen equipment, and dining areas following service.
- Assist with receiving, checking, and storing food deliveries.
- Follow food safety procedures, including temperature checks and stock rotation.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, and Care Home policies.
- Help cater for special dietary requirements, allergies, and cultural preferences.
- Report any concerns regarding food quality, equipment faults, or resident wellbeing to the appropriate manager.
- Work collaboratively with care staff and other departments to provide an excellent resident experience.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a catering assistant
- Previous experience working in a care home setting, desirable
- Enhanced ADULT DBS disclosure
- Food Hygiene level 2 training and allergen training
Monday to Friday 7.30am-4.30pm, ongoing work
Pay rate: £12.71 per hour
