Chemotherapy Nurse | Permanent | 37.5 Hours a week | Spire Wellesley, Southend | Part-time will be considered

Spire Wellesley Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Chemotherapy Nurse to join our Cancer services Team on a permanent, full-time basis. The Successful applicant will provide high quality care to facilitate a smooth-running department. Part-time will be considered.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Chemotherapy Nurse. You will follow the entire patient journey from diagnosis through treatment, working very closely with our Oncologists. The department benefits from a Macmillan quality environment mark demonstrating how well we adapt to meet the needs of cancer patients as well as an exemplar award from our head office recognising the outstanding service provided to our patients.

This is a full time role working Monday to Thursday. Potential Fridays in the future. Part-time will be considered.

Duties and responsibilities

  • The provision of exemplary planned care for patients and assisting in the management and organisation of care provision in in Oncology Day Chemotherapy Centre. Care of cancer patients receiving Systemic Anti- Cancer Therapy(SACT).
  • To work in tandem with the Consultants in an oncology and haematology setting.
  • To chaperone and assist Consultants during patient examinations and any minor surgical procedures.
  • You will be joining a well-established team, who have a strong working environment and will have access to numerous training opportunities that will enable you to further develop your potential.
  • To administer cytotoxic treatment and supportive treatments to patients within the cancer pathway.

Who we're looking for

  • NMC registered - your pin should not have any restrictions or conditions.
  • Chemotherapy competent with previous Oncology and chemotherapy experience.
  • SACT experience with Passport.
  • Must have Phlebotomy/venepuncture and cannulation experience.
  • Have a certified chemotherapy course qualification.
  • Excellent communication skills, along with being organised and can showcase excellent patient care.
  • Willingness to develop.
  • Experience in maintain clinical records of patient care.
