Location: Dundee

Pay: £13.42 - £31.37 per hour (depending on shift pattern)

Contract: Temporary to Permanent

Start Dates: 16/03/2026

Hours: 37.5 hrs per week (5 days over 7, including weekends & bank holidays)

Training: Full-time with 100% attendance required (initial 4-6 weeks; no holidays during this period)

For over 85 years, the UK's largest telecoms provider has supported Emergency Services (999/112), Relay UK, Directory Enquiries (118500), and other essential communication channels. You'll be part of a 24/7, 365 operation where accuracy, speed and empathy genuinely make a difference - and can save lives.

In this role, you will act as a first point of contact, whether directing emergency calls or supporting people with different communication requirements. You'll type real-time conversations with exceptional accuracy, ensuring every caller receives the help and support they need.

What You'll Do

  • Provide calm, empathetic customer service in high‑pressure situations
  • Type spoken words into text in real time (50+ WPM @ 98% accuracy required)
  • Support emergency, relay, and directory enquiry services
  • Follow structured processes and remain composed during emotionally challenging calls

What We're Looking For

  • Clear, empathetic communication
  • 50+ WPM typing with 98% accuracy (tested during application)
  • Strong critical thinking and attention to detail
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure

Shift Patterns (4‑week rotating rotas)

  • Option 1: 4 weeks of shifts between 08:00-19:00
  • Option 2: 4 weeks of shifts between 8:00-19:00 (two weeks), then between 12:00-23:00 (two weeks)
  • Rest days vary and include weekdays and weekends.
