Facilities Assistant / Cleaner
Permanent Position | Central London | Full-Time
We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and professional Facilities Assistant / Cleaner to join our team in Central London. This is a hands-on role that is essential to ensuring our office environment remains clean, organised, welcoming, and fully operational for colleagues, clients, and visitors.
The Role
As Facilities Assistant / Cleaner, you will be responsible for the day-to-day presentation and smooth running of the office, supporting both facilities and general office operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the office for the working day, including:
- Opening blinds and ensuring all areas are ready for use
- Setting up and maintaining the coffee machine
- Ensuring meeting rooms, common areas, the Mackrell Café, and the Mackrell Bar are clean and presentable
- Open and distribute incoming post each morning
- Take outgoing post to the local post office each afternoon
- Prepare client meeting rooms with refreshments, including tea, coffee, biscuits, and water
- Monitor and maintain meeting room presentation throughout the day
- Assist with the setup of office events, including arranging furniture and room layouts
- Keep kitchens, breakout spaces, and communal areas clean and tidy throughout the day
- Ensure bathrooms remain clean, stocked, and presentable
- Replenish photocopiers and printers with paper and other consumables
- Run local errands as required, including purchasing supplies, making deliveries, and delivering documents to local courts or offices
- Provide support to the Events and Marketing team when required
- Water and maintain office plants and indoor greenery
- Manage and maintain outdoor areas, including the terrace and fire escape
- Monitor and manage stock levels of stationery, refreshments, cleaning materials, and bathroom supplies
- Carry out a weekly deep clean of office refrigerators
- Undertake any other reasonable facilities-related duties as required
About You
The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous cleaning, facilities, hospitality, or office support experience
- Take pride in maintaining a clean and professional environment
- Be well organised and able to manage multiple tasks throughout the day
- Have a positive, can-do attitude
- Be physically capable of moving light furniture and carrying out cleaning duties
- Be trustworthy, reliable, and punctual
- Have excellent attention to detail
- Be comfortable interacting with staff, clients, and visitors in a professional manner
Salary & Benefits
- Salary up to £25,000 per annum
- 25 days annual leave
- Bank holidays in addition

Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- 9:00am - 5:00pm
- Occasional flexibility may be required to support events or operational requirements outside standard office hours
Location
This is an office-based role in Central London.
Please note: This is not a remote or hybrid position. The successful candidate will be required to work on-site five days per week.
