ExpExperienced Kitchen Assistant Required for Children's Nursery Settings

We are looking for a caring and dependable Kitchen Assistant to join a friendly nursery team, helping to provide healthy, nutritious meals and snacks for young children. This is a rewarding opportunity to play an important role in supporting children's wellbeing and daily routine within a positive and nurturing setting.

Key Responsibilities

Support the preparation and serving of healthy meals, snacks, and drinks for children.

Assist the Nursery Chef or Cook with basic food preparation tasks.

Help keep the kitchen clean, organised, and welcoming throughout the day.

Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment to maintain high hygiene standards.

Follow food hygiene, health & safety, and allergen procedures at all times.

Receive and store deliveries safely and correctly.

Support stock rotation and help minimise food waste.

Complete cleaning duties and records as required.

Work closely with the nursery team to ensure mealtimes run smoothly and efficiently.

What We're Looking For

Previous experience in a kitchen, nursery, school, care, or catering environment is desirable.

A good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety practices.

A positive, friendly, and reliable approach to work.

A genuine enjoyment of working in environments that support children and families.

Ability to work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues.

A Food Hygiene Certificate is advantageous but not essential.

An Enhanced DBS check may be required for this role.
