Role Overview
This role goes beyond standard kitchen duties, requiring an individual who can take initiative, provide leadership within the kitchen, and act as a key point of contact on-site when management is not present.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining service quality, supporting the kitchen team, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the preparation and service of food within a college kitchen environment
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and safety
- Act as a lead figure within the kitchen, stepping up when required
- Use a computer/PC system to complete basic reporting and communicate updates
- Liaise confidently with the client on-site, ensuring satisfaction and professionalism at all times
- Provide a stable and reliable presence, particularly when senior management is off-site
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment
- Ability to lead or step up within a team setting
- Comfortable using a PC for basic reporting and communication
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Confident dealing with clients and representing the service positively
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work with minimal supervision
- DBS required
