Merit List:

HMCTS run a Merit List, where candidates who are unsuccessful at interview, by only a few points, can be offered other roles, at the same band, for up to 12 months.   So, it is always a good idea to apply for a role, and try as best as you can at interview, as you never know what future opportunities it may open! You will be able to view your status via the application screen. If you have been added to the Merit List, your status will show either Merit or Reserve list.

Job Description:

As a Principal Enterprise Architect, you are a senior technology leader within HMCTS – reporting directly to the CTO. You will shape the future of technology within HMCTS and will be accountable for the technical architecture for one of the domains within HMCTS including:

Crime>
Civil, Family, Tribunals>
Shared Digital Services>
Royal Courts of Justice>
Innovation>
Platforms and Infrastructure>

Key Responsibilities
Architectural Leadership

Lead the design and implementation of enterprise architecture supporting strategic goals and enhancing service delivery in line with GDS principles.
Lead HMCTS to deliver a cohesive set of strategic capabilities for your domain. With accountability for the technical capabilities, offerings, solutions and products for that jurisdiction.
Communicate business problems, strategies, solutions and issues to senior stakeholders including executive and board level. Provide technical and strategic guidance to HMCTS senior management.

Collaboration

Work closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders and external partners to ensure alignment and integration of solutions that support HMCTS and government objectives

Innovation

Drive the adoption of modern technologies and frameworks that foster agility and responsiveness in our IT landscape
Maintain an excellent understanding of the organisation’s needs, resources and existing landscape.

Governance and Compliance

Ensure that architectural designs comply with relevant governance frameworks and standards

Mentorship

Motivate and guide architects, developers and Service owners fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
Management of Enterprise architects and oversight of Solution Architects. Motivate individuals, ensuring that they understand their remit and have the tools and support required.
