Spire London East Hospital have an exciting opportunity for a Quality & Governance Manager. Working with a wide variety of specialisms you will be involved with all departments, across the hospital, working closely with consultants. This is a permanent full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week.

Spire London East Hospital (formerly Spire Roding) is located in Redbridge, on the borders of East London and Essex. We offer comprehensive private hospital services, ranging from outpatient clinics and physiotherapy to surgery and diagnostic facilities. The hospital has 24 inpatient beds and 16 day case rooms called 'pods'. Facilities include 4 operating theatres, an endoscopy suite, 2 extended recovery units, pharmacy and radiology.

Role purpose

The Quality Governance Manager is responsible for the management of the integrated quality governance (IQG) agenda in the hospital, promoting a patient-centred, learning and safety culture 'ward to board'. The Quality Governance Manager provides specialist guidance and support to the hospital Senior Management Team (SMT) in liaison and consultation with the Group Deputy Director of Quality Governance and be a key member of the Hospital Safety, Quality and Risk Committee. They will ensure the hospital governance team are supported to achieve in line with the IQG Vision - 'Empowering people to deliver and demonstrate excellence'.

Key personal work streams - Patient safety (including incident management); patient experience and engagement (including complaint management), clinical effectiveness and outcomes, quality improvement, knowledge and learning, risk.

Duties and responsibilities:

To work closely with the Director of Clinical Services, Hospital Director, Lead Consultant for Clinical Governance and the MAC Chair in driving clinical excellence, quality and the Clinical Governance Framework within the hospital.

To take an active role in ensuring compliance with all hospital regulatory requirements and implementation of the Patient Safety and Incident Response Framework (PSIRF).

Undertake incident analysis and identify barriers to good practice/areas of concern and liaise with Heads of Departments to develop remedial actions and to support in the embedding and maintenance of good practice.

To display and promote excellent clinical leadership in all areas of the hospital. To promote excellent customer service throughout the hospital, facilitating and co-ordinating corporate and local customer service initiatives and providing appropriate support to colleagues.

To provide and develop strong leadership for all aspects of the role initiating optimal clinical standards, managing business objectives, and aspiring to being the leading private healthcare provision within the locality.

To promote and facilitate effective and timely lines of communication within the teams, building relationships with all customer groups, and effecting delivery of actions.

Who we're looking for:

  • Registered healthcare professional with at least three years clinical governance experience in a hospital setting (or unregistered with experience in the healthcare setting and exposure to governance/audit/quality/complaints management)
  • Experience in managing incidents and undertaking investigations.
  • Experience in supporting teams, to achieve compliance in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Keen interest in patient safety
  • Demonstrated ability in problem solving and continued service improvement.
  • Excellent communication/ interpersonal skills, and the ability to develop good working relationships with the team and key stakeholders.
  • Compassionate and able to showcase excellent patient care.
  • IT skills - Word, Excel
