📍 Locations: DE21, DE22 and other areas of Derby (travel flexibility is a plus)

🕒 Monday to Friday (term time only)

⏰ Shifts usually: 10:00am - 2:00pm or 10:30am - 2:00pm

💷 Pay: £12.71 per hour

We're recruiting School Catering Assistants to support primary and secondary schools across Derby, with a particular focus on DE21 and DE22. This is a great opportunity if you're returning to work, managing family commitments, or looking for flexible part‑time work during term time.

You'll have the freedom to choose the shifts and school assignments that suit you, with opportunities across multiple sites.

🔐 DBS Requirement

To work in a school environment, you'll need an Enhanced DBS. If you don't already have one, we can help you through the application process.

🧾 Your role will include:

• Assisting with the preparation and service of food and drinks
• Serving pupils and staff during lunch service
• Clearing, cleaning tables and dining areas
• Washing dishes and keeping kitchen areas clean and tidy
• Unpacking and storing deliveries
• Following food hygiene and health & safety standards
• Providing friendly, professional service in a school setting

✅ What we're looking for:

• Food Hygiene Level 1 (dated within the last 12 months)
• Willingness to help with cleaning and general kitchen duties
• Good time management and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Clear communication skills
• Reliable, motivated, and hard‑working
• Previous catering experience is helpful but not essential
