School Catering Assistant

Locations available across Derby

Monday to Friday | Term Time Only

£12.71 per hour

Shifts are available between:

• 9:30am - 1:30pm
• 10:00am - 2:00pm
• 10:30am - 2:30pm

(Shift times will vary depending on the school.)

Additional assignments may be available during school holidays to suit your availability.

Looking for a role that works around school hours?

We're recruiting Catering Assistants to support school kitchens across Derby. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking for part-time, term-time work, whether you're returning to work, looking for better work-life balance, or simply want flexible hours.

No previous catering experience is required. If you're reliable, hardworking and enjoy working as part of a team, we'd love to hear from you.

If you don't currently hold an Enhanced DBS, we can help you arrange one.

Duties will include:

• Assisting with the preparation and serving of food and drinks
• Setting up and clearing dining areas
• Operating tills during service
• Receiving and storing deliveries
• Washing up and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen
• Following food hygiene and health and safety procedures
• Providing excellent customer service to pupils and staff

What we're looking for:

• Food Hygiene Level 2 certificate (issued within the last 3 years)
• A willingness to support all areas of the kitchen
• Good organisational and time management skills
• A positive attitude and strong team ethic
• Good communication skills
• Reliability and a strong work ethic
• Previous catering experience is advantageous but not essential
