We are currently recruiting experienced and passionate School Chefs to work in primary and secondary schools across Chelmsford and the surrounding areas.

Whether you're looking for full-time hours, part-time work, or flexible shifts that fit around your lifestyle, we have a variety of opportunities available through our agency.

This is a rewarding role where you'll be helping to prepare and serve nutritious meals to students while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and kitchen hygiene.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking meals in line with school menus and dietary requirements.
• Managing food preparation and service during busy lunch periods.
• Ensuring compliance with Food Hygiene and Health & Safety regulations.
• Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment.
• Managing stock levels and assisting with ordering where required.
• Supervising kitchen assistants and supporting the wider catering team.

Requirements

✅ Previous chef experience, ideally within schools, care homes, contract catering, or high-volume kitchens.

✅ Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).

✅ Level 2 (or above) Food Hygiene Certificate preferred.

✅ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

✅ Strong organisational and time-management skills.

✅ Reliable, professional, and passionate about delivering quality food.
