Assistant Chef - Woodbridge Suffolk - Live in Avail

We are looking for an Assistant Chef to support the Chef of the day to day running's of a restaurant.

Join a friendly and support team on the outskirts of Woodbridge Suffolk in a rewarding busy role.

What you will be doing:

Be able to prepare and/or cook/regenerate, without supervision some elements of the set menu, in line with dish specification, time frame and Catering Standards, as follows:

* Breakfast items such as (bacon, sausages, beans, mushrooms, porridge, hash brown, etc.)

* Soups such as tomato, mushroom & vegetable, etc.

* Cold and hot fillings for sandwiches/jacket potatoes

* Make sandwiches and salads on request

* Freshly made bread as required

* Cooking sauces such as tomato and cheese

* A range of salads

* Side meals such as potato & vegetable, etc.

* Monitor and replenish meals on the service counters or salad bar as per instructions from Line Manager

* Customer service - maintain high levels of professional and polite communications with all

* Actively seek to develop cooking and delegation skills to support the team to provide safely the best food and service

* Demonstrate knowledge of portion control

Accommodation is available for the success candidate.

Must have:

• Experience in a kitchen environment.
• Hygiene Level 2
• Enhanced DBS or willing to get one.

Days/hours:

• 42 hours a week across Monday to Sunday. 9am-6pm or 10am-7pm

This is initially a full time assignment from May to November 2026.
