At Blue Arrow we are always looking for talented and dedicated Chefs to join our clients kitchen team. We are currently looking for Chefs to cover a number of temporary roles within Blackpool, mainly in Primary Schools.
As a Chef you will:
· Prepare vegetables, meats and fish with guidance from senior chefs
· Ensure ingredients and preparation is ready for service for more senior Chefs
· Measure/weigh dish ingredients and portion sizes accurately
· Deal with deliveries and stock rotation
· Assist other section chefs during service
· Cook and prepare elements of high-quality dishes with guidance
· Help with deliveries and restocking
· Contribute to maintaining kitchen and food safety standards
· Cleaning stations and kitchen equipment throughout the day and at the end of service
Qualifications/Licences/Certifications/Experience
Essential
· Enhanced DBS is essential
· Experience working well in a team and communicating with the other members of staff
· Basic cooking skills
· Food Hygiene Level One
· Level 1 and 2 Food Safety Awards
· Minimum 6 months relevant experience
· Awareness of manual handling techniques
· Awareness of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) and chemical safety
· Experience of kitchen equipment
· Experience of dangerous equipment such as knives
· Competent level of English spoken and written
