Chefs Required - Schools & Care Homes Across Northumberland

Blue Arrow Newcastle are currently recruiting experienced Chefs for temporary, ad‑hoc work across schools and care homes throughout Northumberland.

All successful candidates will be put through a DBS check, so an existing DBS is not required.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 1 year's chef/cook experience
• Confidence working in busy, safe catering environments
• Driving licence preferred due to some rural locations (not essential)
• Reliability, good communication, and strong food safety awareness

School Chef - Role Details

Typical duties include:

• Preparing and cooking nutritious meals following set menus
• Working within strict hygiene and allergen guidelines
• Monday-Friday daytime hours
• Supporting a small catering team and assisting with service
• Maintaining a clean and compliant kitchen environment

This role suits Chefs seeking structured daytime shifts.

Care Home Chef - Role Details

Typically includes:

• Preparing balanced, home‑style meals tailored to residents' dietary needs
• Following specific nutritional or medical requirements
• A mix of weekday and weekend shifts
• Maintaining high hygiene and food safety standards
• Working closely with supportive care teams

Ideal for Chefs who enjoy producing wholesome, comforting meals.

Pay Rate

£16.50 - £19.50 per hour, depending on client and location.

Locations

Roles available across Northumberland, including:

Alnwick, Ashington, Blyth, Morpeth, Hexham, Cramlington and surrounding areas.
