We're looking for a reliable, motivated Chef to join our friendly contract catering team at a busy education site in Reading. This role is perfect for someone who wants great work-life balance with Monday-Friday daytime hours and term‑time only working.
📍 The Role
- Salary: £25,000 per year
- Monday to Friday
- 7:00am - 3:30pm
- 40 hours per week
- 38 weeks per year
- (term time + inset days)
- Supporting a busy kitchen producing 300+ covers per day
🔥 Key Responsibilities
- Preparing fresh, nutritious meals for students and staff
- Supporting the Chef Manager with daily operations
- Ensuring food safety, allergen compliance and kitchen hygiene standards
- Helping with menu prep, service, and occasional themed days
- Working efficiently in a high‑volume environment

- Previous experience as a Chef in contract catering, education, or similar environment
- Strong kitchen skills and ability to work at pace
- Reliable, positive, and a good team player
- Passion for delivering consistent, high‑quality food
