We are recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded care home in the Ashurst area of the New Forest, known for delivering exceptional standards of care and hospitality. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced chef to lead the kitchen team and make a real difference to residents' daily lives through high-quality, nutritious dining experiences.

The Role

As Head Chef, you will be responsible for the overall management of the kitchen, ensuring residents receive delicious, nutritious, and well-presented meals tailored to their individual dietary requirements. You will lead a small team and cook for around 40 residents.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and preparing seasonal menus
  • Managing kitchen budgets and stock control
  • Leading, training and motivating the kitchen team
  • Ensuring compliance with food hygiene and health & safety regulations
  • Catering for special dietary needs and allergens
  • Maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation

About You

  • Previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Experience within care, healthcare, education, contract catering or hospitality environments
  • Knowledge of nutritional requirements and special diets
  • Food Safety Level 3 qualification desirable
  • Passion for delivering excellent food and customer service
