Head Cook

Newcastle upon Tyne | Chef Manager, Hospitality & Catering

We are seeking an experienced and caring head cook to provide nutritious, well‑balanced meals and snacks for children aged 6 months to 5 years. The role includes menu planning, meal preparation, catering for special dietary needs, and maintaining high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness.

  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week
  • Salary: £27,213 per year
  • Annual Leave: 25 days per year plus 8 Bank Holidays

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent)
  • Level 2 Diploma in Food Production and Cooking or equivalent
  • City & Guilds 706/1 and/or 706/2 (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of the nutritional needs of young children
  • Experience working in a busy kitchen environment (nursery or school desirable)
