Blue Arrow are proud to be recruiting on behalf of our client for a Nursery Chef / Kitchen Assistant to join their dedicated team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced kitchen professional who enjoys preparing fresh, nutritious meals and wants to make a positive impact on children's health and wellbeing.

As a key member of the nursery team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving healthy, balanced meals while ensuring the highest standards of food hygiene, safety and cleanliness are maintained at all times.

The Role

As the Nursery Chef / Kitchen Assistant, your duties will include:

• Preparing and cooking fresh, nutritious meals daily
• Catering for dietary requirements, allergies and cultural preferences
• Maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic kitchen environment
• Following Red, Amber and Green Plate procedures
• Completing daily cleaning schedules and hygiene documentation
• Managing stock levels and food ordering within budget
• Minimising food waste wherever possible
• Adhering to all food safety, health and safety, and COSHH regulations
• Supporting children's wellbeing through high-quality meal provision

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Previous experience preparing meals within a domestic or commercial kitchen
• Understanding of food allergies and dietary requirements
• Knowledge of food safety and COSHH regulations
• Experience working within a catering budget
• Excellent communication skills with fluent spoken and written English

Desirable:

• Experience preparing meals for young children
• Food Hygiene qualification
• A passion for creating healthy, nutritious meals that children enjoy
