We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic School Chef to join a busy catering team, preparing nutritious, high-quality meals for pupils, staff, and visitors. Key Responsibilities Prepare, cook, and present freshly made meals in accordance with school menus and nutritional guidelines.

Ensure meals are served on time and to a consistently high standard.

Assist with menu planning, including healthy and seasonal meal options.

Cater for special dietary requirements, allergies, and cultural preferences.

Maintain excellent food hygiene, health & safety, and allergen management standards.

Monitor stock levels, place orders, and ensure effective stock rotation.

Minimise food waste and manage kitchen resources efficiently.

Supervise and support kitchen assistants and catering staff where required.

Ensure all kitchen equipment is operated safely and maintained correctly.

Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant kitchen environment at all times.

What We're Looking For Previous experience as a Chef in a school, care home, contract catering, hospitality, or similar environment.

Good knowledge of food hygiene, food safety legislation, and allergen management.

Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (preferred).

Ability to prepare nutritious meals for large numbers of customers.

Excellent organisational and time management skills.

A professional, reliable, and positive attitude.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

An enhanced DBS check may be required for this role.
