DBS Requirements

Some assignments, particularly within schools, nurseries, and care environments, require a valid Enhanced DBS Certificate covering Child Workforce, Adult Workforce, or both. The certificate must be registered on the DBS Update Service or have been issued within the last 12 months.

If you do not currently hold the appropriate DBS, you must be willing to complete the relevant checks through Blue Arrow. Please note that charges apply for new DBS applications.

The Role

As a Sous Chef, you will help deliver high-quality food service while supporting the day-to-day running of busy kitchens by:

• Preparing and cooking fresh meals to a high standard
• Adhering to food safety, hygiene, and allergen regulations
• Assisting with stock control and kitchen organisation
• Working closely with Head Chefs and kitchen teams during service
• Maintaining excellent food presentation and quality standards
• Ensuring all kitchen areas remain clean, safe, and compliant

About You

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef within a professional kitchen
• Strong knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen procedures
• Food Hygiene Certificate preferred but not essential
• Flexible, reliable, and proactive approach to work
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Own transport is advantageous due to the variety of locations
