Sous Chef - Contract Catering | Sherborne

£16 per hour (£33,280 per annum) | Full-Time | 40 Hours per Week | 52-Week Contract

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and motivated Sous Chef to join a well-established contract catering team in Sherborne.

This role would suit an experienced Chef de Partie looking to take the next step in their career, or an existing Sous Chef seeking a stable position with excellent work-life balance and a supportive kitchen environment.

The Role

Working alongside the Head Chef, you will help deliver high-quality meals within a busy independent school setting, catering for:

• Over 600 lunches daily
• Approximately 500 evening meals
• More than 500 boarding students

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career within a large-scale catering operation while maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.

What's on Offer?

• £16 per hour (£33,280 per annum)
• Full-time, 40-hour contract
• 52-week position
• Working 5 days out of 7
• Typically one weekend day worked per week
• Predominantly early shifts: 6:00am - 2:30pm
• One or two late shifts per week: 11:30am - 8:00pm
• Likely days off will be Friday and Saturday

About You

We are looking for someone with a strong cooking background who is passionate about delivering quality food and supporting a busy kitchen operation.

You will have:

• Experience as a Chef de Partie looking to step up, or previous Sous Chef experience
• Strong all-round cooking skills and a hands-on approach
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills
• The ability to work calmly under pressure
• A positive attitude and strong team ethic
• Passion for fresh food and high standards
