An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and ambitious Sous Chef to join a passionate kitchen team in Southampton. Working alongside an experienced Head Chef, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional food across a busy restaurant and thriving events operation.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Sous Chef looking to develop their career in a varied and fast-paced environment, where no two days are the same.

The Role

As Sous Chef, you will assist with the day-to-day management of the kitchen, supporting the Head Chef in delivering high-quality food for:

• A busy 70-cover restaurant
• Event spaces catering for up to 200 guests
• Additional function areas catering for up to 60 guests

You'll help lead a close-knit team of 5 kitchen professionals, maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, and service.

What's on Offer?

• Salary of £32,000 - £37,000 per annum
• Straight shifts (generally starting around 11:00am, dependent on events)
• Time Off in Lieu for additional hours worked

Working Hours

• Primarily straight shifts
• Typical start time around 11:00am (subject to event requirements)
• The restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays
• Days off will vary in line with business needs and events
• Every effort will be made to provide two consecutive days off where possible

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef ready to step up
• Passion for fresh, high-quality food
• Experience working in busy restaurant, hotel, or events environments
• Strong organisational and leadership skills
• Excellent understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and lead by example
