Blue Arrow Derby is looking for experienced Chefs, Cooks and Chef de Parties to join our relief team supporting a variety of clients across North Derbyshire.

With schools preparing for their September return, we're keen to speak with chefs now as Enhanced DBS applications can sometimes take a little time to be returned. Registering early means we can start the compliance process and have you ready to hit the ground running when opportunities become available.

The good news is that while your DBS is being processed, we can often offer work within hospitality and other catering sectors, helping to keep your income coming in rather than waiting for clearance before you can start earning.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 1 year's experience as a Cook, Chef de Partie or Chef
• Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
• Food Allergen Awareness and understanding of dietary requirements
• Reliable, professional and flexible approach
• Ability to work independently and as part of a kitchen team

Desirable Experience

• Enhanced DBS issued within the last 12 months
• IDDSI Framework Training within a care home setting
• Children's Safeguarding Training
• Previous experience within care homes, healthcare, education catering or hospitality venues

Typical Shifts

Care Homes & Healthcare

• Monday to Sunday
• 6am - 7am starts
• Finishes typically between 3pm - 6pm
• Weekend shifts available

Schools & Nurseries

• Monday to Friday
• 7am - 8am starts
• Finishes between 2pm - 4pm
• No evenings or weekends

Enhanced DBS Requirements

Many of our assignments require an Enhanced Adult DBS, Child DBS or Adult & Child DBS.

If you already hold a DBS certificate dated within the last 12 months, we may be able to offer work immediately. If not, Blue Arrow can arrange a new DBS application for you at a cost.
