Schools are already planning for September, so now is the ideal time to register. We can begin your compliance and DBS process early, helping you secure work as soon as possible.

The good news is that while your DBS is being processed, we can often offer work within hospitality, leisure and other catering sectors, helping you earn while waiting for clearance.

With opportunities available across Nottinghamshire and the wider East Midlands, we're confident we can find assignments that suit your experience and availability.

Enhanced DBS Requirements

Many of our assignments require an Enhanced Adult DBS, Child DBS or Adult & Child DBS.

If you already hold a DBS certificate issued within the last 12 months, we may be able to offer work immediately. If not, Blue Arrow can arrange a new DBS application for you.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 1 year's experience within a professional kitchen
• Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
• Understanding of allergens and dietary requirements
• Reliable, professional and flexible approach
• Ability to work independently and as part of a kitchen team

Desirable Experience

• Enhanced DBS issued within the last 12 months
• IDDSI Framework Training - within the care sector
• Children's Safeguarding Training
• Previous experience within care homes, healthcare, education or hospitality environments

Typical Shifts

Schools & Nurseries

• Monday to Friday
• Starts between 7am and 8am
• Finishes between 2pm and 4pm
• No evenings or weekends

Care Homes & Healthcare

• Monday to Sunday
• Starts between 6am and 7am
• Finishes typically between 3pm and 6pm
• Weekend shifts available

Hospitality & Events

• Varied shift patterns
• Early morning breakfast shifts from 5am till 1/2pm, to days from 10am/12pm to 8pm and evenings from 3pm/5pm till 10pm/11pm
• With weekends available
• Flexible bookings to fit around your availability
